The procedure adding a link to GODOT to your EBSCOhost interface is as below. Two links are described, one for journals and one for books.

For Journals

  • Go to http://eadmin.epnet.com

  • From the upper right corner, choose 'Site/Group Maintenance'.

  • Select the 'Go' link under 'Custom Links'.

  • Choose 'Add New Custom Link' and then 'Create New Custom Link'. Press 'Continue'.

  • Fill in the following form fields:

  • Link Name: GODOT

  • Category: Other

  • Link Text: e.g., Where Can I Get This?

  • Link Icon: Enter the icon url if you prefer an image to the above text. E.g., http://godot.lib.sfu.ca/godot/images/rlg_godot.gif

  • Base URL: http://godot.lib.sfu.ca/GODOT/hold_tab.cgi

  • Query String:
    dbl={DATABASE}&dbt=ebscohost&ti={TITLE}&so={JOURNAL}&ca={AUTHORS}&issn={ISSN1}&an={AN}&mon={DATE}&vol={VOLUME}&iss={ISSUE}&pg={STRTPAGE}&t={FMT-T}&p={FMT-P}

  • Mandatory Field: {IfNotEmpty({IfEqual({ISSN},ERICRIE0,ok)},,{ISSN})}

  • Show on Result List/Show on Publication List/Show on Detailed Display: Change to Yes as preferred.

  • Select 'Submit'.

  • See 'For Both Books and Journals' below.

For Books

  • Go to http://eadmin.epnet.com

  • From the upper right corner, choose 'Site/Group Maintenance'.

  • Link Icon: Enter the icon url if you prefer an image to the above text. E.g., http://godot.lib.sfu.ca/godot/images/rlg_godot.gif

  • Base URL: http://godot.lib.sfu.ca/GODOT/hold_tab.cgi

  • Query String:
    dbl={Database}&dbt=ebscohost&ti={TITLE}&so={IfNotEmpty({book},{book},{IfNotEmpty({journal},{journal},{seriestitle})})}&ca={AUTHORS}&isbn={ISBN}&an={AN}&mon={DATE}

  • Mandatory Field: ISBN

  • Show on Result List/Show on Publication List/Show on Detailed Display: Change to Yes as preferred.

  • Select 'Submit'.

  • See 'For Both Books and Journals' below.

For Both Books and Journals

  • Select 'Linking' tab.

  • Select 'Modify' opposite 'Custom Links'.

  • Select 'Add New Custom Links'.

  • Click on the select box next to the link that you want to add.

  • Select 'Submit'.
