GODOT Interlibrary Loan

A large part of GODOT's functionality and many of its configuration options are related to submitting Document Delivery requests based on the results of the Z39.50 broadcast search for holdings.

A library's borrowing relationship with other libraries can be configured as Direct, Mediated, Information Only or Not Allowed. A library can rank different libraries so that preferred lenders are displayed first on GODOT's main screen.

Another feature related to Document Delivery is Automatic Requesting where GODOT chooses the library to which the request gets sent, instead of the patron.

A site can configure GODOT so that a patron is required to authenticate themselves against the library's ILS before placing a Document Delivery request. It is also possible to place limits on who can place some types of requests (eg. only allow graduate students to order items for which no holdings have been found.) As well, patron data can be retrieved from the ILS so that the patron does not have to enter this information.
